Association of Cable Communicators Named an Official Honoree in the 12th Annual Webby Awards
Washington, DC – The Webby Awards, the leading international honor for the Web, recently recognized www.CableCommunicators.org, the Association of Cable Communicator's (ACC) Web site, as an Official Honoree for the Associations category, a distinction that recognizes work exhibiting remarkable achievement. Hailed as the "Oscars of the Internet" by the New York Times, The Webby Awards is the leading international award honoring excellence on the Internet and are judged by the International Academy of Digital Arts & Sciences.
"ACC relaunched our Web site to broaden the array of services and professional tools available to our members," said Steve Jones, executive director of ACC. "As the cable industry's only national, professional services organization devoted to excellence in communications and public affairs, we strive to lead by example in all our outreach efforts, and it is gratifying to be told that our Web site is a benchmark for excellence on the internet."
Launched in mid-September 2007, www.CableCommunicators.org is ACC's enhanced online home and serves as a focal point for cable communicators across the country. In a recent member survey, ACC members named it a primary benefit of membership in the association. The site incorporates relevant and continually refreshed information, e-learning and Web 2.0 services. The 12th Annual Webby Awards received nearly 10,000 entries from more than 60 countries and all 50 states. Fewer than 15% of the entries received this honor and were deemed an Official Honoree.
