Association of Cable Communicators Announces 2011 Beacon Awards Finalists

Washington, DC ––The Association of Cable Communicators (ACC) announced today the names of the finalists for the 2011 Beacon Awards honoring excellence in cable communications and public affairs.  The winners of the 2011 Beacon Awards will be announced during the Beacon Awards Luncheon and Ceremony on Thursday, October 6, 2011, at the Hilton New York concluding ACC's annual conference FORUM 2011: Communicating Cable's Future.

"Across the country cable communicators are working every day to tell cable's story.  They promote their companies' products and contribute to the bottom line while also improving the quality of life for their companies' customers and the communities they serve," said Sandy Colony, 2011 Beacon Awards chair and senior advisor, employee communications, Insight Communications.  "The Beacon Awards recognize the best of this work, and the 2011 finalists display ingenuity, creativity and innovation in the face of increased competition and demand for resources."

Fifty-nine ACC members, cable communications and public affairs professionals, chose the 2011 Beacon Award finalists during an extensive, two-phase judging process.  The high-quality Beacon Award entries submitted this year continue to demonstrate the cable industry's commitment to communications and public affairs and represent company initiatives implemented over the past year in areas such as community relations, events & observances and social media communications.
