“Did You Know” Campaign Launched by Time Warner Cable
Time Warner Cable has launched a new communications campaign to increase customer awareness of the products, features and customer care initiatives that are included in their cable service. Each month, “Did You Know” topics will be featured in TV spots, customer newsletters, bill statements, Time Warner Cable’s YouTube channel, pages on Twitter and FaceBook and Time Warner Cable stores.
“Our goal is to build awareness of these great initiatives so customers will truly feel the value we bring them every day, and we’re doing it in a fun, unique and engaging way,” said Jeffery Hirsch, executive vice president, chief marketing officer, residential services of Time Warner Cable.
Seven spots will be available by the end of the year. They will focus on customer benefits including watching free live programming with the Time Warner Cable TV app, watching free movies from the On Demand library, access to more than 60,000 nationwide free WiFi Hotspots, catching up on recent episodes of popular programming with free Primetime On Demand and Entertainment On Demand, and customers may manage their accounts and pay their bills using the MY TWC application or going to www.twc.com.

Lightpath Awards $75,000 to New Jersey Schools
Nine New Jersey schools will have the opportunity to roll out ambitious new technology-driven learning programs as a result of $75,000 in grants announced this month by Lightpath®, a division of Cablevision Systems Corporation. The schools receiving Lightpath grants can fund a wide range of technology-based programs that will see tablet devices, webcams, video editing software and interactive whiteboards introduced into classrooms. Since starting its Transforming Education With Technology grant program in 2010, Lightpath has awarded $325,000 to local schools.
Grants were awarded from among 80 applicants; the winning schools will receive awards ranging from $5,000 to $10,000 funded by Lightpath to advance teaching and learning with technology. The $10,000 grant winning schools are Cedar Drive Middle School, Charles J. Riley School #9, Macopin Middle School, Panther Academy, University Heights Charter School and The Wardlaw-Hartridge School. The $5,000 grant winning schools are Midland Park High School, Milltown Primary School and Wemrock Brook School.
“We see the profound impact that technology has on organizations every day, but it’s especially rewarding to watch it transform the way children learn about the world around them,” said Dave Pistacchio, president, Lightpath. “Lightpath created its education grant to help foster interactive learning and we are proud to have the opportunity to invest in their future. We congratulate this year’s grant winners and wish them luck on the rollout of these exciting new programs.”
The winning schools were selected by an independent panel of three judges from local colleges. All applications were anonymously reviewed to keep outside influences from impacting the judging process. Submissions were awarded based on how the proposed programs would improve instruction, enhance the overall education experience, utilize new technologies to promote learning and establish new school initiatives. The 2012 program was open to any New Jersey public or private elementary and secondary school located within Cablevision’s service area.
Lightpath works extensively with schools throughout the New York metropolitan area to transform education in the classroom. Schools that have deployed services from the Lightpath Education Services Suite have cut costs, considerably increased bandwidth and enhanced teaching and learning.
