United Way Triple Play Public Service AnnouncementsComcast Three Rivers Region worked with On Media, a Pittsburgh-based production company, to create a series of five public service announcements for internal and external use to promote and build awareness around the 2008 fundraising campaign for the United Way.  Each PSA ran internally on the company intranet (TeamComcast) and all-employee television channel (digital channel 999).  Each PSA also ran on numerous local television stations.  The PSA campaign has helped to promote the United Way and show how Comcast employees are choosing to give to the charity.  During the 2008 United Way campaign, more than 40% of the employee base gave money to the charity, a 30% increase from 2007.

mtvU Half of Us PSAs
Public Service Announcement (Single or Series) - Cable Network 1
mtvU - New York, NY
mtvU Half of Us PSAsAs part of its Half of Us mental health campaign, mtvU worked with the Jed Foundation to develop a series of PSAs featuring students exhibiting signs of emotional disorders, from fear of showing weakness, to facing pressure from parents, to coping with unidentified feelings.  These PSAs encourage the audience to be attuned to warning signs in themselves and their friends.  The tagline “The pain is real.  Don’t ignore the signs.” empowers students to seek help and drives to the campaign website for campus-specific resources. The campaign has reached more than 9 million students on-air and online with normalizing messages about mental health and provided a clear connection to local resources.

End Violence Against Women

Lifetime Television - New York, NY
End Violence Against WomenOne in three women will be affected by domestic or sexual violence. In the 7th year of Lifetime’s End Violence Against Women campaign, the Network broke the mold of traditional PSAs by enlisting A-list celebrities Nicole Kidman and Christina Aguilera and infusing an engaging, relatable and hopeful message that everyone can contribute something, no matter how large or small, to the effort to stop domestic abuse and sexual assault. The PSA campaign was not only seen on-air and online during April, National Sexual Assault Awareness Month, but also throughout Aguilera’s nationwide concert tour and around the world through UNIFEM (United Nations Development Fund for Women). Special partnerships with nonprofits and MSN dramatically expanded the reach of the effort.
