In January 2007, Comcast assumed ownership of the Houston cable systems previously managed by Time Warner Cable as a result of the dissolution of a joint venture between the two companies.  There would be significant challenges as Comcast had never operated in the Houston market.  The Public Relations team went right to work implementing an aggressive media outreach campaign that resulted in coverage reaching over eight million people throughout the Greater Houston area.  The ability to create awareness and establish public understanding of Comcast’s offerings, strengths and leadership was critical to initial success as the new cable company in Houston.
