Each year ACC sponsors the Beacon Awards competition
honoring excellence in public affairs throughout
the cable industry. Individuals from MSOs, cable systems,
programming networks and state associations are recognized
for achievements in the areas of public relations,
community outreach, customer service, education
and government affairs. Beacon Awards finalists and winners
achieve peer, industry and local market recognition for
their exemplary work, while setting a standard for their
colleagues to emulate.
On March 13, 2007, ACC honored the best of the best cable communications and public affairs projects during the 2007 Beacon Awards Ceremony. The 2007 Beacon Award winning entries were submitted by cable operators, programming networks, cable associations and cable technology providers for public affairs and communications projects in categories such as community relations, competitive response and public service announcements.
