Each year ACC sponsors the Beacon Awards competition honoring excellence in public affairs throughout the cable industry. Individuals from MSOs, cable systems, programming networks and state associations are recognized for achievements in the areas of public relations, community outreach, customer service, education and government affairs. Beacon Awards finalists and winners achieve peer, industry and local market recognition for their exemplary work, while setting a standard for their colleagues to emulate.

Golden Beacon Award Winner

The Golden Beacon Award, the association's highest honor for a public affairs initiative that has made an impact within the cable industry while enhancing cable's image nationwide. The 2000 winner was Court TV's "Choices & Consequences" a ongoing multi-dimensional public service initiative aimed at adolescents.
